Scott Hawkins is a 2016 graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education. He did his student teaching with Mr. David Visnaw at Anchor Bay High School. A band program known for it's success in concert band, jazz band, and marching band. Mr. Hawkins has done extensive work with bands throughout southeast Michigan, including the Plymouth Canton Marching Band, the West Bloomfield Marching Band, and the South Lyon East Marching Band.
His drive took him to become a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois for the 2013 and 2015 summers. He placed 6th and 7th place in the Drum Corps International Finals which take place annually in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Since 2010, Mr. Hawkins has been a featured performer and conductor with the Plymouth Community band. He has also been privileged to play a tuba solo with the Wayne State University Wind Symphony. He has worked with and learned from numerous members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and also served as an associate for the Detroit Civic Youth Ensembles. Mr. Hawkins served as tuba section leader for the Wayne State University for 3 years including backing up the band's premiere of Rite of Spring.
